Who can make a referral for Lex-Care programs?
Only social service workers can make referrals. If you need to make
a referral and are not a member, please fill out the membership application to become one. This will ensure that there will not be any down time in assisting a client. Individuals must have a Lex-Care
member as their case worker to make the referral.
Has Lex-Care helped the local Fayette County schools before?
Yes. Last year Lex-Care received twenty four referrals from Fayette
County Public Schools Family Resource and Youth Service Centers for crisis assistance, and provided $7,566.02 to the families
of our students. This helped keep our students in their homes and in their current schools, limiting the impact on our students’
lives and preventing crisis. In all, twenty three percent of all 2009 referrals came from FCPS staff, and FCPS parents
received twenty one percent of all assistance funds.
Where do my contributions go?
Out of every $1.00 you give .80 cents goes to the Financial Assistance Fund,
.05 cents goes to the Diaper Fund, .05 cents also goes to the Rides program, and the remaining .10 cents of the dollar is held in the administrative fund to cover administration expenses for Lex-Care.
How many employees does Lex-Care have?
At Lex-Care we are focused on minimizing our expenses. There are no paid
positions at Lex-Care. We are volunteer driven. This allows us to keep our expenses low, ensuring that more resources go directly
to serving those in need.
