Financial Assistance

Lex-Care maintains a fund to assist people with financial and material needs when no other source is available. The fund is supported solely by private contributions, which are received in response to Lex-Care’s Herald Leader column "Make A Difference". In 2009, sixty two families benefited through this program. To receive support from this fund, a referral must come from a social service worker with appropriate documentation of the need. The Lex-Care coordinator and at times the Board of Directors, review the request. Following appropriate approval the referral is featured in the column. No one is featured in the column without his or her written permission. Click here to view eligibility requirements.

Diapers

Baby-2.jpgLex-Care purchases disposable diapers in bulk and distributes them to Cardinal Valley Center, Salvation Army, and Gainesway Community Empowerment Center. Families needing an emergency supply of diapers may contact one of these agencies. A social worker referral is not necessary. Families are required to provide identification, social security card and verification of the child’s birth date. Families are eligible for twenty five diapers per child every three months.  In 2009, 7,671 diapers were given out to 371 families. Diapers and financial contributions are accepted by Lex-Care. Rides

BoardingBusjpg.jpgThe Rides program provides transportation assistance to persons in need of transportation for legitimate, necessary reasons when no other means are available. In 2009, Lex-Care Rides provided sixty three bus passes to clients in need. This program keeps citizens employed, makes medical / counseling appointments possible, and allows recipients to find consistent work. Requests for transportation aid (Bus, taxi or Wheels) must be made through a social service agent. Click here to view eligibility requirements.
